Stillwater Picnic Engagement Session | Abby & Christian | Minneapolis Photographer

Engagement

Where do I begin with how creative and fun this engagement session was?! Abby and Christian thought out every little detail. Starting with the location – they met in Stillwater and had made some pretty amazing memories there, so they picked this location because of how special it was to them. If you think thats adorable (like I do), just wait until you hear the rest! Abby and I had been emailing back and forth quite a bit leading up to their session, so I had heard all their visions for the session, and I was super excited! They had an idea of having a picnic styled with all of their favorite things. First off, when she told me the idea I about lost it cause that is SO cute. AND how memorable for them to look back on some day, and be reminded what their favorite things were at the this time of their life. So leading up to their session, I was just so excited. Envision this: a picnic in Stillwater with adorable props, and a super gorgeous couple. That is like a photographers dream right there for an engagement session!

We met up in Stillwater at The Waterstreet Inn, and they showed up with edible cookie dough from Dough Dough for me! They had my heart right away. (insert cheesy emoji here). We were off to explore the town of Stillwater on a busy Saturday afternoon. The buzz of people made it really fun, and made it even a bigger adventure to find some perfect little spots to take some photos! Walking along the cute Stillwater streets, eating our Dough Dough, and getting to know one another more. One of my favorite parts of engagement sessions! We ended the session with their styled picnic, and it was EPIC! They had their favorite board games, favorite pizza from Stillwater, favorite champagne, dough dough, and even their favorite books. All things that reminded them of one another. They popped Champagne and fed each other cookie dough – what a perfect couple! To top this all off, the bridge over the river started to lift… and it made it so much more fun to capture! Cannot wait to capture their big day in April at The Hewing Hotel!

Tip to all my brides out there – Bring props! Bring things that you guys love. Bring a blanket, a sign with your new last name on it, bring jerseys if you’re crazy sports fans, bring coffee cups or wine with some glasses to really end the session well. The ideas are endless! Be you, you won’t regret it when you have the photos for the future!

Alright, check it all out below! 🙂
